Ashanti Douglas, also known as Ashanti and born in Glen Cove New York United States on October 13th 1980. She is a songwriter, singer and actor who hails from in the United States. Ashanti was discovered as a teenager and eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. The same year she also appeared as a guest on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? song as well as Ja Rule's Always On Time track, both of which became massive hits. She became the first female artist to hold the top two spots in the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at first place and What's Luv? Ashanti was in the film of Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) as well as Ted Demme's Who's the Man? as an extra in her youth. In addition, she appeared in a variety of music videos, like K.R.S. Act One's MCs Don't They're Not a Good Idea or the Eight-Off Ghetto Girls. After being courted by various label labels, including Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti was unable to make it in her career as a performer. Ashanti continued to sing at New York, and she was spotted in the Murder Inc. studios hoping for a big break. Ashanti performed as the vocalist backing Big Pun's How We Roll. Ashanti also sang on Fat Joe's song What's Luv? Ja Rule's always on time and Fat Jojo's What's Luv? also featured her. It's her debut single Foolish features a sample taken from the track of DeBarge titled Stay with Me. Ashanti's debut self-titled record was made available through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. on the label in 2002. The Declaration was Ashanti's fourth studio release, made available on the 3rd of June in 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released via the radio and on digital format) came out October 16, 2008. The actress has appeared in the movies Christmas in the City as in Army Wives. Aitch is one of the British musician, sampled her track Rock wit U for Baby on 10 March 2022.
