Holly was married three times. The first time, she was married to actor Danny Quinn. They were married in 1991 and divorced in 1993. In 1994, she was introduced to Jim Carrey during auditions for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. While she wasn't offered the job, Jim Carrey and she formed a close relationship while filming Dumb and Dumber. They got married in 1996. They split after just one year.
